Book Fair - Nov. 30 - Dec. 4

Staff Preview - TODAY, Monday, Nov. 30th from 3:00-4:00 pm!  If you come to the staff preview, you get first dibs on books and you can buy books today! I’ve already had my principal preview and picked out books for Gloria! If you come for the preview, you will be entered into a raffle for $25 in free books at the book fair!  All staff - not just teachers!  

Tuesday, Dec. 1st - Student Preview Day!

Please bring your library books to the library on Tuesday morning first thing.  There will be no story nor library check out on Tuesday 12/1 because students will use their library time to watch the author video promo on the book fair and then

preview the book fair, making their wish list to take home to their parents.  

Wednesday, Dec. 2nd - Open for purchase before school, at lunch, and after school.  

Thursday, Dec. 3rd - Open for purchase before school, at lunch and after school from 3:00 - 6:00 pm!

We are thinking of doing a staff stunt if we meet our Book Fair goal, which is $2,200 (correction to profit:  if we sell btwn $1,000 - $2,200, we get 40% profit and if we sell more than $2,200, we get 55% profit!).....Let’s do a crazy Christmas dress up on Dec. 18th, if we make our goal!  Students and staff can dress up!  

Community Sing-along and Meet Santa

The City of Cornelius is hosting a community Sing-along and Tree Lighting on Dec. 3rd at 6:30 pm.  It will start at the Veteran’s Memorial Park.  Then we will walk parade-style to the City Hall where there will be an opportunity to meet Santa and eat cookies!  Bring your families!  I will be bringing my daughter, Gloria!  Please talk this up with your students!!!!!

Learn about my G&G insights  - Optional Meeting - Wed at 8:45 am in TRC

I learned a lot about G & G during my training the week before Thanksgiving and I’m happy to share some of my insights with you all in a brief meeting after data teams on Wed.  Optional for anyone who wants to attend.  I have some ideas about how we can make our dual language program more about enrichment and less about catching kids up (remedial).  I got answers to all of my questions about why and how to make G & G work better here.  I definitely want kinder and 1st grade teams to be here on Wed to talk about how we can make some tweaks this year - maybe starting at the beginning of 2nd trimester.
