100% Meeting

Thanks to all of our teachers for participating in our 100% meetings and to Lawson and Melissa for co-facilitating with Melissa Carter!  I’m very sorry that I couldn’t be there to participate myself.

Math Adoption

Our Math Adoption Committee has reviewed feedback from teachers and parents and selected Houghton Mifflin Harcourt “Go Math” as the curriculum to pilot for the next two weeks.  If after the pilot it is still the number 1 pick, we will be recommending that to our superintendent and the school board for adoption next year.  Daisy, Jacob, and Chelsea will be piloting it from our building.  Daisy and Jacob are serving as CO reps on the math adoption team and Chelsea is looking at the curriculum through a technology lens as our EdTech Cadre member.  All three of them will be at a training on Monday to learn how to implement the new curriculum.

Anita Archer

All of our teachers will be participating in Anita Archer’s explicit instruction training next week!  Grades 3-4 (along with Melissa Timm, Lawson, and Stephanie) will be trained on Tuesday and K-2 (including Maroha and Manuel) will be trained on Friday.  Because we will have a bunch of subs in the buildings on those days and to not have to get subs for our specialists, we will be cancelling ELD and intervention groups on those two days next week.

Reminders:

• Do the ELPA practice test with your ELD class!  Don’t forget about the ELPA practice activities that Melissa created!
• ELPA testing to start on Feb. 10th for kinders….we will be done with ELPA testing by spring break.
• SBAC testing starts the week after spring break for 3rd grade and in May for 4th grade.
• Mid-Year Reviews on teacher SLGGs need to be submitted by 2/16.
